Ceroc at Queen’s Hall Intermediate Routine 24/07/13

Tonight saw Jenny Adams as teacher, Jonathon Gammon as Demo and James Richardson as DJ. It was a good night and a warm one.

Tonight’s routine looks like this:

I really liked this routine. I loved the last move where you do the rocks and then the spin out. The spin out looks really good. Tonight Lisa who works on the door brought her daughter Kaitlyn. I did this routine with her so I wasn’t able to go round the room and see how people were finding it. From what I could tell it seems like they were. The only problem will be doing the second move in freestyle and particularly the caress bit. As the lady (follow) turns before doing the caress they may want to do a full turn the other way before the men (leaders) are able to caress. This is something that will need a definite block. The only way to do this will be by lifting your hands to do the caress as soon as the lady is done doing that double handed traveling turn.

Tonight was a good night and was very warm. I had lots of fun and got in some good dances. There was a good atmosphere. James played some really good music tonight. He even played the line dancing. For those of you who don’t know the line dancing yet here’s the line to the YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKHIpuJJke0

The team managed to get some practice in tonight. We just went over the parts that we have already learnt that link together. This was really good. We only had one of the couples who need to learn the moves. The rest of us have learnt them. It looks really good. I can’t wait to see / do the finished routine.

If you fancy coming down next week to learn Ceroc (modern jive) or just want to try somewhere new it’s Wednesday at Queen’s Hall in Leeds on Harrogate Road. Starts at 8pm.
